This year the Rotary Club of Waterfront will be hosting the 98th Annual District Conference and Assembly. Captain Johann Gerber and crew extend a warm welcome to all participants from Angola, Namibia, part of South Africa, and internationally who will be joining us on 21 – 22 April 2023.
Chartered on 12 September 1992, our club has a rich history as it was founded at a time when the Waterfront was in the early stages of development. It is a privilege to host the Conference and Assembly under the leadership of our District Governor, Tracey Wilson, particularly this Rotary year, as the Rotary Club of Waterfront celebrates its 30 years of service to our community.
We acknowledge the unique position we hold at the beach head, at having a world Heritage site within our Rotary sphere of influence, because of both the historical significance of Robben Island, as a symbol of resilience, human dignity and hope, as well as its fragile land and marine ecosystem.
The substantial support of the City of Cape Town, our headline sponsor, is acknowledged with sincere appreciation, as well as our major sponsors Pick ’n Pay and the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. The hard work and support of the members of the Organising crew over many months, is lauded.
It is our hope that you will step ashore after your voyage of ‘Reconnect, Reimagine – moving forward together’, with fond memories of good times and fellowship, inspired and fortified for the year ahead by impactful speakers, wisdom and insight shared during our time of interaction together.
