SPECIAL Message from RI PRESIDENT

2022-23 RI President Jennifer Jones at LONE STAR PETS (President-Elect Training Seminar) at the Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport. Dallas, Texas, USA. 26 February 2022.

Jennifer Jones

Rotary International President 2022-2023

Dear fellow Rotary leaders:

I am so pleased that you are attending your Rotary District Conference. As you meet in the days ahead, you will have the opportunity to celebrate your successes, expand your network across borders and cultures, and share your ideas for the years ahead.

As Rotarians, our commitment to service is what drives us, and we want to be a part of something larger than ourselves. This special event is where we take our passion for community service to the next level, finding inspiration in each other’s accomplishments to bring our service to even greater heights.

We all feel the impact that Rotary service and Rotary values have on us … now it’s our opportunity to share that feeling with others. This is a year to Imagine Rotary by envisioning a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing we can make a difference. We don’t imagine yesterday, we imagine tomorrow.

We imagine a world without polio, with clean water for everyone. We imagine a world free of disease and where every child learns to read. We imagine kindness, hope, love, and peace.

If we serve our members, we serve our communities. And if we provide comfort and care for our members, they will truly come to understand the power of Rotary.

I hope you take the knowledge gained at this District Conference back to your clubs to help them succeed throughout the coming year. Together, we will achieve great things as we Imagine Rotary.

 Warmest regards,
Jennifer Jones

Welcome Message by District Governor

Tracey Wilson

District Governor 2022-2023

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Welcome to the Rotary International District 9350 Conference and Assembly 2023 Website.

The time has come for all Rotarians to reunite with old friends, to realign with the Rotary network and identify how we can continue to build positive partnerships and create IMPACT and lasting change in our communities.

Under the incredible leadership of Rotary International President Jennifer Jones, the first woman to hold this role in 117 years of Rotary’s history…. We have seen a dynamic shift, an inspiring vision and the willingness to achieve so much more.

Rotary clubs across District 9350 have embraced the IMAGINE Rotary theme and delivered. My District Governor visits to all the clubs have been humbling in what “ordinary Rotarians” are doing. Constantly giving of their time and expertise, but always with the broadest smile. I am honored to be serving as the District Governor for D9350 in 2022-2023, thank you all for this opportunity.

We will be sharing the successes of the IMAGINE Rotary year and hope that you will all experience this weekend as one that is motivational and energizing, as we continue to watch Rotary International “thrive”. DGE Ann Wright will also lead us at Assembly in understanding the District and Rotary vision for the 2023-2024 year.

A HUGE thanks to our sponsors for their contribution, all are valued and appreciated. Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the RC Waterfront organizing team under the leadership of PDG June Webber for their continued work and commitment over many months to make this event happen.

We hope that you will enjoy the content of this our website and engage in all the events available. This is a Rotary District 9350 event that you don’t want to miss.

REIMAGINE, RECONNECT …Moving forward together… thank you for joining us.

Kind Regards
TRACEY WILSON

Mayor's Welcome Message

Geordin_Hill-Lewis

Geordin Hill-Lewis

Executive Mayor of Cape Town

Welcome to Cape Town!

It is wonderful to host you and your fellow Rotarians in Cape Town for your annual district conference. I look forward to personally hosting you on 21 April at our beautiful City Hall and engaging your members, especially those who have travelled afar locally, in Angola and Namibia on 22 April at the President Hotel.

You’ve come to the right place if you’re looking for a trip of a lifetime filled with breath-taking scenery, mouth-watering food and wine, lavish treatment, and priceless memories.

Our beautiful destination has always been known for its vibrancy and its diversity, and we are proud to say that we have only improved in the last few years. Our city has become a hub of cultural and culinary delights, and we are now home to some of the most innovative start-ups in the world. And no-one can say that Cape Town doesn’t have heart!

We’re also putting a lot of effort into making Cape Town the best place to visit, reside, work, study, play, and invest. Making the most of emerging trends such as remote work is an essential part of this strategy, since long-term stays that combine travel with employment are good for our economy.

We are very much aware of the outstanding work of Rotary locally and internationally and we salute all Rotarians. It is only by working together that we can truly accomplish great things and I look forward to moving forward with Rotary District 9350.

Feel at home in Cape Town and enjoy the time with us.

Sincerely,

Geordin Hill-Lewis

District Governor ELECT’s Welcome Message

Ann Wright

District Governor Elect 2022-2023

Dear Members

I extend a personal welcome to each delegate attending District Assembly in Cape Town and I look forward to introducing my leadership team for the year ahead.

We are privileged to belong to a dynamic, member driven organisation that encourages clubs to grow, adapt and remain relevant. My personal respect and thanks goes to everyone who has had a role in putting this event together especially the incredible organising team from RC Waterfront.

Society is facing unprecedented local and global challenges and Rotary, as the largest humanitarian organisation, is working to meet the needs of communities in our district and world-wide. Our work is acknowledged because of people like you who volunteer thousands of hours annually to make a difference in each community we serve.

This year our International President, Gordon McInally, has chosen Create Hope in the World as his presidential theme. Inviting members to place a greater emphasis on peace, to offer hope to those with mental health challenges, to continue the projects offering opportunities for disadvantaged girls to succeed in life, to contribute to the polio eradication campaign. We must create a future worth living.

I am sure that you will be stimulated, encouraged and challenged by our inspirational guest speakers and programme line-up. You, as our members and club office bearers, are our greatest asset and after Assembly you will help us pave the way into the future with strong club leadership and a strong, healthy membership.

The time is now for achieving our vision of bringing even more people together to create lasting positive change in an evolving world.

Yours in Rotary
DGE Ann Wright
